Book Return Boxes Open May 18

On Monday, May 18, we will begin a phased reopening starting with the reopening of our curbside book return boxes. During this first phase of our reopening, staff will be onsite but the building will not be accessible to the public. Our staff will be collecting, sanitizing and scanning all returned items from the book return boxes and will be preparing the building for reopening to the public.

If you have library materials that you borrowed prior to the Library closing on March 14, you may return those in the curbside boxes at your convenience beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18th. For the duration of the phased reopening of library service, extensive safety measures have been put in place to ensure the health of the public and library staff. All employees will wear personal protective equipment as required by State Orders, will practice social distancing at all times, and will engage in frequent disinfecting of equipment and high contact surfaces used by staff along with other measures to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Recently returned circulating materials will be quarantined and sanitized thoroughly prior to re-circulation among the general public.

We appreciate the hard work of the Trumbull County Health Department during this unprecedented situation and thank them for consulting on this first phase of our reopening.

While curbside returns are set to begin on May 18, we are already preparing for the next phase of our reopening. We are eager to open the doors to the public with limited services and will just as soon as we are permitted to safely do so.

On behalf of the Library’s Board, staff, and administration, we thank you for your patience and continued support.
