2022 Summer Reading Program

Oceans of Possibilities

Ahoy Mateys! Summer is upon us, and an Ocean of Possibilities awaits! Prepare to explore new depths and travel to distance shores. We invite you to dive into an ocean themed Summer Reading Program for all ages from June 1- July 15. Discover all the treasures in books and programs the library has to offer. Adventure awaits for all who choose to sail with us across the deep blue sea.

Turn in all competed tracking logs and scratch-off tickets to the Library by Friday, July 15 to be entered into the prize drawings!

Reading Program: ages 5-12 years

Pick up a summer reading packet and dive in! Track time spent reading, complete activity challenges and attend programs to earn scratch off tickets and to enter prize drawings. The more you read, the more chance you will have to win and earn prizes.

Read-to-Me Program: infants through kindergartners who are not yet reading on their own

The Read-to-Me Program helps develop early literacy skills through reading and a set of fun learning activities. Pick up a summer reading packet to begin tracking each day you are reading together and completing activities. Children will receive small incentive prizes along the way and earn raffle tickets to enter prize drawings. We encourage families with pre-school aged children to also participate in 1000 Books Before Kindergarten.

1. Check out a book or audiobook from the Library. The library staff member who serves you will give you a scratch-off ticket. You may also borrow books or audiobooks from the Library's e-media collection and show your virtual book shelf on your digital device to a staff member to receive a ticket. (Limit: Only one scratch-off ticket can be earned per person per day)

2. Scratch your ticket to see what you won!

"Instant Prize Winner" = Select a prize from the Prize Bin.

"Grand Prize Entry" = You will be entered into your age group's Grand Prize Drawing.

3. Write your name and phone number and circle your age group on your scratch-off ticket and give it to a library staff member to redeem your prize.

Summer Reading programs were funded in part through a federal Institute of Museum and Library Services LSTA grant awarded by the State Library of Ohio.
