WINTER READING PROGRAM JANUARY 2 - FEBRUARY 28 Children, Teens, and Adults Are you “Yeti” to Read? The Library is gearing up to launch its winter reading challenge. Similar to the Summer Reading Program, the program features reading challenges and fun programming for all ages. How to Play: Pick up or print out a bingo card for your age group (Kids, Teen/Adult): Players receive a bingo card with a set of challenges in each square. 1. Complete challenges: Players read books or complete activities to fill in the squares on their card. 2. Mark off squares: Players cross off or color in the squares they complete. 3. Win bingo: Players earn a raffle ticket when they get five squares in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to enter a prize drawing (up to 6 raffle tickets). 4. Complete the card! Kids will receive a Yeti Reading Buddy. 5. All raffle tickets must be entered by February 28th. The drawing will be held March 3rd. Check the calendar for projects. Registration is required and limited to 25 spots. Registration opens one month prior to the event date. Project Tween Day: Third Tuesday of the month Dates: Jan. 21, Feb. 18, Mar. 18, Apr. 15 Time: 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Ages: Tweens 9 - 14 years A monthly program for “tween” youth ages 9-14 featuring a different project each month. Check the calendar for projects. Registration is required and limited to 25 spots. Registration opens on the 1st day of the event month. Dog Man Party Date: Thursday, Jan. 23 Time: 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Ages: 7 - 10 years Are you a fan of Dog Man or are you just learning about this popular book series? Join us to celebrate the release of the new Dog Man movie opening in theatres Friday, January 31st. Play games, eat snacks, and complete challenges related to the book. One lucky participant will win a Regal Movie Theatre gift card. Registration is required and limited to 25 spots. Registration opens Jan. 1st. Builder’s Club Day: Fourth Tuesday of the month Dates: Jan. 28, Feb. 25, Mar. 25, Apr. 22 Time: 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Ages: Ages 5 and up Create, explore and play! All you need to bring with you is your imagination. Join us for creative construction, challenges, and games using Legos, Knex, and more! Registration is required and opens Jan. 1st. Children 8 and under must attend with a caregiver. Children 9 and up may attend without a caregiver, but must stay in the room for the entire movie until an adult returns. A light snack is provided.
