TEENS AND ADULTS: Read from June 5th - July 17th for a chance to win prizes! Here's how it works: 1. Check out a book from the Library. The library staff member who assists you will give you a scratch-off ticket. You may also borrow books or audiobooks from the Library's e-media collection and show your virtual book shelf on your digital device to a staff member to receive a ticket. (Limit: Only one scratch-off ticket can be earned per person per day.) 2. Scratch your ticket to see what you've won! 3. Write your name and phone number and circle your age group on your scratch-off ticket and give it to a library staff member to redeem your prize. Join us for a live animal show with Jungle Terry and a sweet reward for your hard work with an ice cream sundae bar! Prize winners will be posted! Ongoing Fun! Read from June 5th - July 17th for a chance to win prizes! Track time spent reading, complete challenges, and check out books to earn raffle tickets for prize drawings and small prizes. When your travels are complete, turn in your log to enter the Grand Prize Drawing. Our youngest travelers who may not be reading on their own may participate in the Read Together Program aimed at helping to develop early literacy skills and a love of reading together, earning small prizes along the way. CHILDREN: Drop in to celebrate the start of Summer Reading with activities for all ages throughout the day! Crafts and coffee from Traveler’s Coffee Company in the afternoon. Then, finish the day with gourmet grilled cheese and homemade sides available for purchase from Sandy’s Meltdown and live music from MMAD. Children can pick up reading tracking logs. Teens & adults can start checking out books to earn scratch off tickets. Our friends from Traveler’s Coffee Company will be parked at the Library select Wednesdays in June and July selling a wide variety of coffee, lattes, and seasonal beverages!

Kids and Pups Day: Fridays Dates: June 7, July 26 & August 16 (Puppy Party) Time: 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Ages: 7 - 16 years Registration is required and limited. Kids limited to 1 session Jun. 7 or Jul. 26, but all are welcome for the Aug. 16 Puppy Party. Children help Canine Companion trainers by assisting in teaching puppies how to resist distractions and testing their abilities. Canine Companions is leading the service dog industry in supplying people with disabilities trained companions to assist in everyday situations so they can live with greater independence. Wednesday Wanderers Day: Wednesdays Dates: June 12 & 26, July 10 & 17 Time: 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Ages: 5 - 12 years Registration is requested for prep of materials. Grab your passport and prepare to take an imagination vacation around the world. Departing from KFPL, we’ll explore the landscapes and attractions of all 7 continents, with pit stops in various countries to learn about their culture and traditions through fun, interactive activities. SCHOOL AGE PROGRAMS Registration is required at least 1 day before the event. Children 8 and under must attend with a caregiver. Children 9 and up may attend without a caregiver, but must stay in the room for the entire movie until an adult returns. A light snack is provided. Join our Nintendo Switch tournament for a friendly competition filled with prizes, snacks, and tons of fun - all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to join in the excitement! FAMILY INDOOR MOVIES PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS SPECIAL KID EVENTS Kids Create: Glow in the Dark Paint 2 Date: Tuesday, May 7 Time: 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Ages: 4 - 14 years Assistance may be required from a caregiver for younger children. Registration is required, spots limited. If you missed the first program this is a second chance to create a one-of-a-kind picture that will glow in the dark. ODNR Naturalist, Jessica Conch, leads a program about critters you may see in the wild, this month we will feature the otter. Try out a new watercolor cookie decorating technique with SweetieBug Confections to create delicious globe cookies.
