StoryWalk®
Kinsman Free Public Library is proud to present our StoryWalk® through the Library grounds. A StoryWalk® is a fun, educational activity that places a children’s story (literally a book taken apart) along a popular walking route. Conceived as a way to inspire parents, teachers, and caregivers to take young children out of doors for physical activity and to learn, StoryWalk® helps build children’s interest in reading while encouraging healthy activity for both adults and children.
Visitors may start along the path that begins with the first story board closest to the parking lot. Then, follow along the walkway past the library entrance and down into and through the Reading & Wellness Garden to read a story through to the end.
StoryWalk® features a different story or interactive game/activity each month that is often themed around current seasons, holidays and celebrations.
StoryWalk® is free and open to the public daily from dusk to dawn.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
